Harry Hoffner is the John A.Wilson Professor of Hittitology Emeritus in the University of Chicago. He is Founder and current Co-editor of the Chicago Hittite Dictionary. Although he has written on almost every aspect of Hittite history and culture, his special interests lie in the areas of language, literature, law, and the activities of daily life. In collaboration with Craig Melchert, he is currently preparing for publication a comprehensive grammar of the Hittite language. After the completion of that project he plans a revised second edition of his book Alimenta Hethaeorum: Food Production in Hittite Asia Minor (1974).
